I'm going to give this a try to keep up with my blog. Time is of the essence and I can't promise to post here consistently. It's mostly sporadic posting.
The excitement all started last September 2012. I was notified that I will be part of the medical team for our next Africa Mission trip with our church, Kailua Community Church. It's a dream come true for me. I've always wanted to join the Peace Corps and this is quite close to being in one.
I was 15 years old when I accepted Jesus in my heart. I was training during the summer to share Jesus with the children from our public elementary school back in the Philippines . I thought I knew all about Jesus until I felt this "tug" in my heart while learning more about Jesus' sufferings. I started crying because I can't imagine the pain that Jesus had to endure to save us from our sins so we can all have an everlasting life. I'm overwhelmed with "joy" because of His great love for me, for us!
Why do I want to go on a mission's trip to Africa?
I love Jesus with all my heart. I want to know more about Jesus and share Him with others so they too can experience the love, comfort and peace that I have in my heart. For many years God has put the desire in my heart to serve little children. My dream is to become a preschool teacher, and still is, but God has other plans for me. A mission's trip to Africa will allow me to serve and explore other places and at the same time get to know Jesus more by sharing Him with the children in Africa.
The challenging part of the preparation for the mission is getting my vacation approved. By the end of September 2012 I got my approved vacation! Continued prayers and focusing that "God is in control"!
